Standardize Hazardous Waste Management Build a Safe Line of Defense New Material Science and Technology Park to carry out laboratory hazardous waste environmental management regulations and standards interpretation training

On July 18th, New Material Science and Technology Park (NMSTP) held a special training on the interpretation of regulations and standards on environmental management of hazardous waste in laboratories, so as to effectively improve the standardized management level of hazardous waste in laboratories of science and innovation carriers in the park. A total of more than 80 people attended the training, including the relevant safety managers of the new materials international innovation community and C-PARK laboratory enterprises.

The training invited safety experts to systematically sort out the core laws and regulations of hazardous waste management in China, and explained the main responsibilities and legal obligations of laboratories as waste-producing units in the whole chain of hazardous waste management. At the same time, the experts combined with practical cases to explain in depth how to accurately identify and standardize the setting of hazardous waste categories and labels based on the "National Hazardous Waste List", and analyzed in detail the standard requirements for hazardous waste temporary storage sites, such as siting, construction, seepage control, ventilation, fire protection, and the configuration of safety and security facilities, and emphasized the requirements of zoned storage, ledger records and the time limit for storage. The experts also put forward specific improvement measures and risk prevention suggestions for the hot summer weather.
In the Q&A session, the participants also exchanged views with the experts on the difficult problems encountered in the actual operation.
